snippy: something like this is life altering. imagine the prognosis. one by one bad shit gets us all and becomes our cross to bear. hope it doesnt pain you too bad oldt Nard. nobody needs constant fucking pain.

HechoAmano: Impingement? Frozen shoulder? Oh brother, get ready for the knife homie. I had both, and in both shoulders several years apart. Apparently running is great exercise but the repetition of arms moving back and forth at the shoulder messed mine up. Shitty doctor did first, it was a nightmare. Luckily changed for second shoulder, that doc was fantastic. My advice get a shoulder guy, don't use the knee guy.

Maynard: getting surgery at the end of April or beginning of May. My doctor is anti-science though....wish me luck!

HechoAmano: anti-science? I have no idea. I will say it takes quite a while to get your full mobility back, so don't get frustrated when you start rehab. Oh yea, get plenty of vicodin.

Riverrat: Are you getting shoulder replacement or can they fix it without going that far?

HechoAmano: My first shoulder the doc was terrible on shoulders, but bless his heart, he gave me all the hydrocodone I asked for. I cut down on it when I almost drove up on a highway cement shoulder on my way to rehab one morning.

UncleJesse: Dang. Hope the doctors can fix this.

HechoAmano: Rats, sounds like Maynard has the same thing I had. It's mainly going in and grinding off the bone edges causing the impingement, then, crap can't remember the term, they take your arm and forcibly rotate it around and around to break up all the scar tissue nodules that are causing your shoulder joints to freeze. Doc asked me, "did your mom every buy whole chickens when you were a kid, then she would break the chicken pieces up by hand and you heard the real loud snaps when the bones broke? Yea, it's like that, it's one of the reasons we put you under."

Riverrat: I have a friend that had shoulder replacement. That wasn't fun stuff either. But from you description I think I would rather have replacement.
