weave: I was in downtown Manchester NH last week. Was really nice. Saturday night, streets were crowded, everyone having a good time, no homeless, no beggars, clean, felt completely safe.

Riverrat: When we lived in Bismarck ND a black family moved to town. Most everyone had never seen one before. All the kids in school wanted to be their friend.

snippy: where i grew up in oregon there was the sundown rules. they were supposedly stopped around ww2 but they sure as hell continued into the 60's.

Riverrat: We only had the one black family in town and most people hadn't had experience whith blacks so they wanted to be tere friend. The ones no one could stand in Bismarck was the indians. The were a bunch of lazy worthless drunks. We also had a encampment of longhaired freaky eyed drug addicted hippies.
