Riverrat: China has developed what they calla pellet reactor that is impossible to overheat and melt down. It uses radioactive ceramic coated pellets rather then the big fuel rods. So far in testing it seems to work good.

HechoAmano: I have no idea if this is true, and I'm too lazy to Goggle it, but I was told that nuclear waste nowadays only has a half life of about ten years before it goes inert.
