BigJay: ^ Then they should go with the lowest American Manufacturer's bid! Contracts bids always have Specs in them. Mechanical trades needt to be licensedt & insuredt, materials have to meet certain ASTM guidelines... Perhaps they could switch a few EPA regulators to the auto purchase dept? Grantedt, the department would needt at least (3) employees, the big bureaucrat with the big salary, the direct supervisor with the 200K salary & benefits, and the peon with the 150K salary andt benefits of royalty to actually do the work, but within a couple years they should be able to accomplish what any business owner could do in 5 minutes...

Speedy: This car, along with Accords, Camry's Tacoma's etc. is assembled in America. My Chevy truck was assembled in Mexico. Hard to say what is an American car any more. It's a global business.

Riverrat: I go with where the company headquarters is located and therefore where the profits go to determine if it's American or not.
