Homer: Sweet old Pontiac. Sucks they killed off the brand.

Riverrat: GM killed off the brand in the 80s when they switched to all the cars being the same. Just change the name badging. Other then that they were the same. It just took several years for them to quit producing the different name badges.

KingHade: ^Killed off the brand in the 80s?! So how does my brother drive an 08 Pontiac if the brand was killed off?! River... Wrong as usual...

Riverrat: Because the name badge didn't go away until a couple years ago. But there wasn't much difference to the cars starting in the 80s. GM cars use to be all unique brands.

Homer: i dont really agree river, they had the g8 (no one else had that) they also had thet little convertable that no one else had.

Speedy: The G8 was based on the GM Australia Holden, and the 2 seater was shared with Saturn. The shared badging really goes all the way back to the 60's, IMO.

Riverrat: They had their own engine, transmissions and dive train back 80s. They did have similar size cars back then but not much in the similar body design.
