Maynard: The 1st band I was in was called Half Mass (I think we thought that was how you spelled Half Mast), we sucked very bad!!! One day in 10th grade a buddy of mine says to a group of us that he's looking for a bass player to join his newly formed band. I hadn't played any bass guitar or even owned a bass guitar but i said I have a bass guitar and I'll join your band. That weekend I begged my parents for $100 bucks to go buy a used guitar and amp from the local music store. I showed up to the 1st practice not knowing a damn thing about bass guitar but we just started jamming and the drummer said....hey you are pretty good. The other 3 guys in the band were all skaters so they wanted to play skate punk music similar to the circle jerks or dead kennedy. We only had a couple of songs but the one song I can remember was called "All Fat Women Must Die"

wink__dinkerson: I ended up playing bass too. Still have it, turns out its worth some money now. We used to play in my garage and a bunch of guys in a band that lived across the street called "King George" used to come over and jam with us. They were having some fun one weekend and brought their buddy Ted Nugent over. We almost got a chance to play opening act for him when he played at Wayne State student union. I ended up having to make a quick decision of whether I got swept up in the draft or enlisted. I ended up in the Air Force.I never garage banded after that.
