Fleedle: The mullet run has begun

ITM: Do you ever try to catch them? Good eats

Riverrat: You can only catch them with a net. I've tried snagging them before but wasn't successful.

Fleedle: Mullet are good eats? I could cast net hundreds of them ez pz- the schools are huge and right by the shore. Snagging is ok but you need the right size hook

Fleedle: This school was getting blasted by tarpon- I think i saw a shark's tail but not sure. If you look theres a dude swimming through the middle of the school- I wouldnt do that

Riverrat: They are good smoked. I've never had them cooked any other way.

ITM: There used to be a boat on the beach when I was a kid. My Mom and Dad and I lived at Myrtle Beach...anyway these guys would go out when the mullet were running and net a ton of those things with one sweep...by the way it was a rowboat and it was pretty big. I was kinda small then but it was bigger than your average pleasure boat buy a lot. it took 7 or eight guys to row that thing out in the ocean and net those fish. Anyway,back to eating mullet my Mom and Dad used to buy a mess of them to fry up. Mullet home cut French fries and homemade coleslaw...good eats. I want fish now...maybe this week I'll get a mess
