Fleedle: my high school was 55% black but it seemed like waaaay higher

Maynard: We lived in the mostly black city of Tacoma, Wa from 1981-1986 after my dad got out of the Army. Tacoma at the time was a crime ridden cesspool. We lived in the housing projects called Salishan. My dad finally got tired of our house/car getting broken into so we moved to a mostly white city just a few miles away and suddenly no more break-ins.

Fleedle: snips 'colored folk' is considered antiquated and maybe racist, the preferred term is 'people of color' which is obviously a huge difference.

Riverrat: I'm from ND, We didn't have hardly any blacks in ND when I lived there. They were probably smart enough to stay away from someplace so cold and desolate.
