KingHade: Careful taking the old one out, and don't over tighten the new one... you'll be fine...

Riverrat: Do you have a torque wrench so you can tighten it to the proper torque specs?

weave: No. I'm going to get my brother to do it for me. I'd fuck it up. I mean, it looks pretty simple, but I'd still fuck it up. It's what I do. Oh, and I read the standard Honda labor for doing this job is $300. The part costs $35.

Riverrat: If they charge $300 to replace it that must mean it's in a spot that's a pain in the ass to get at.

KingHade: ^Its under the transmission... You need to raise the car, remove the plastic covers, and then reach to the back of the transmission to get the the part...

snippy: cant you get to it easier from under the hood?

Homer: looks easy weave.. as long as you don't have to take half the motor apart to get to it.. (that's what the Germans love to have you do)

Opack: River, thats what they WANT you to think.. If oil changes werent so routine, im sure they'd be >$100

Nakkh: I had a volvo that had a shift position sensor on top of the transmission. The part was 60 bucks but the labor was 900 to drop the trany to get to the damm thing.

weave: You apparently have to remove a splash guard underneath and that's it. Guys on the Honda Fit forum say if you have a skinny arm you can get to it without removing the guard even. I can see the plug from above. It's right by the tranny dipstick.
