Homer: Had toyo on my porka those are good tires

Pickles: No tire purchase today, I was just hanging out while they did the yearly state safety & emissions check.

KingHade: ^Just another money grab on the working man...
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 05:33:30 PM

Riverrat: ^Not really. They use to have safety inspections in FL. Then Governor Graham got mad because his mothers car wouldn't pass inspection so he eliminated the inspections. Since then you see a lot of wrecks on the road that didn't use to be there because they didn't pass inspection.
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 05:38:19 PM

Pickles: I have to agree with Rats on this one. There are far fewer unsafe cars on the roads here since the state clamped down on inspection fraud.

KingHade: ^I'm talking more about the emissions part... It should be country wide, or not at all... This state by state shit is bullshit... Why should I have to conform to emission here in NY, but some hick in Alabama don't? Is it not all the same air? Dose his vehicle somehow not contribute to global emissions?
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 06:03:19 PM

Riverrat: The emissions testing is based on if there is an air pollution problem in the area. In FL some counties have emissions testing, others don't It just depends on the population and the air quality.
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 07:34:22 PM

KingHade: ^But vehicle emissions is a global problem... and while we cant make a global regulation, we sure as hell can make a National one...
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 07:48:57 PM

gettheledout: Air doesn't have borders. I can see the lights of Tijuana, (if the smog ain't too bad) from the drive-thru window. Seriously, we kleefornians have to get the emissions testing which is designed to keep those nasty cars off the road. And yet everyday they allow ten thousand (or more, it's the busiest border crossing in the world) cars cross into our country which don't have to conform to shit. I always see cars billowing smoke out the exhaust, 99.9% of the time they have Mexican plates.
Fri, July 24th, 2015 @ 08:36:00 PM

deez: i don't think the emissions testing is required everywhere in texas. i think it's only in the metropolitan areas like dfw, houston, probably austin & san antonio areas.
