Ridgerunner: Parents are tired of libraries allowing their children to access material that most would consider prwnographic. At the end of the day it's mismanaged taxpayer funded entity providing kids access to objectionable material so here we are. If they won't manage themselves, policy will.

Maynard: Define exactly what 'objectionable materials' means?

Maynard: What i mean is...defining exactly what 'objectionable materials' means is the hard part. what is objectionable to UJ isn't the same as what's objectionable to nips.

Ridgerunner: One example would be children's books in many public and school libraries that graphically depict and instruct boys how to suck off other boys. This is considered 'inclusive material' whereas if it were to show a girl how to do that it's prwnographic therefore banned and you will not find that in a library. There are countless similar themed publications as well. I know this because I work with parents who have seen this themselves and it's concerning to say the least.

Maynard: You may find it objectionable but other people wouldn't find it objectionable. i get your point, i find it objectionable also. But who is the arbiter on what is objectionable and where do you EXACTLY draw the line?

Ridgerunner: It appears the State of Texas drew the line at age. So now in Texas if parents want their kids to read 'Obscene books in libraries' they'll have to get those from the library for them. I don't see how or why anyone would have a problem with that.

gettheledout: Libraries are government entities, therefore it is the politicians job to regulate them. Not saying I agree with that but I believe it to be a fact
