No kidding. Almost a year ago, my local ghetto walmart went to ALL self service mini stations. Then about three months ago, they went back to about 4-6 cashier stations, with the rest split between bigger self checkout and the mini stations.

There's an Amazon Go store in SFO with no cashiers or self service kiosks. Items you take are detected by sensors in store, they bill your Amazon acct as you exit store (you badge into store with Amazon code from app)
