HechoAmano: Okay, growing up in 60's-70's Texas, the word used was "Mexicans". It was not used as derogatory, or as an insult. Nowadays, down here when in a mixed crowd we all try to say "hispanic" because we don't want to piss someone off, but honestly, "Mexican" was what we all considered to be the nice and respectful word. It's all so confusing to us dumb rednecks that never meant to be rude.
