UncleJesse: I googled and it says: ... fully dressed 944 engine is 400-500 lbs (closer to 500 if turbo) and the weight of a fully dressed LS or LT-based engine lies between 418 – 610 lbs. An LS/LT long block weighs 260 – 545 lbs....

snippy: looks like an LS1 from a C5, about 460 lbs. and i never woulda guessed the 944 engine was so heavy.

UncleJesse: A friend of mine used to have a 944 Turbo, it was fast as hell. I thought that the Ls1 engine would be much heavier than the 944's also too.
