ITM: I predicted this car would die of transmission failure maybe three or four years ago...unless Maynard has had the tranny rebuilt...I stand corrected....I based my prediction on the two Escort Station Wagons I had that went south about the same time...Maybe we were a little bit more rough on them...don't know

Speedy: I had two Escort wagons that crapped out at 160,000 miles with transmission failures. Otherwise they were great runners.
