I am staying FAR away from the city tonight

Opack:
Hey, here's a great idea, lets poke the bear and mock a religion in front of their holy house, because NOTHING bad could come from that. Then, lets thump our bibles and proclaim how we're more superior than that lowly religion and call it safe under the guise of the 1st amendment, because nothing bad can come from this at all. But it's a peaceful demonstration after all, but we'll have bikers and minutemen at our side in case any brown people decide to show.

Speedy:
Why not? Any muslims that object can show up and hold their own peaceful demonstration.

Opack:
I understand, and yes we can argue back and forth about rights and that they're allowed to do that, but is it smart? Given the recent attacks, does he think this is a good idea? All this is going to do is further divide the religions. If the muslims did a draw jesus dead on the cross cartoon contest, shit would hit the fan so hard, but these are just extreme rightwing assholes looking to stir up some trouble. I bet they'll all be wearing their assault rifles proudly on their backs, wearing their American flag shirts and flying the Gadsden flag.

Riverrat:
Not really because people do Christian mocking cartoons all the time and yes people don't like it but no one has been killed over it.

atheism.....problem solved!!

weave:
People in this country have a right to do stupid stuff like this. They also have the option not to be a douchebag. You don't HAVE to be a douchebag.

Riverrat:
Atheism isn't the answer either. They get all bent out of shape and like to ridicule all religions. They aren't any better then the religious zealots they despise.

ITM:
Well, shut my purdy mouth. I figgered Opie and Weave fer cartoonin fer first prize...a new goat

deez:
i don't get the point of the contest. yes, it's their right, etc. just don't see why you would go out of your way to participate or put an event like that together.
