Speedy: I sold my boat, the guy that bought it is fixing it up, including repainting the engines.

Riverrat: He's spending all that time and money just to paint the motor??? Is that a fresh water cooled motor?
Wed, May 20th, 2015 @ 11:31:07 AM

Speedy: Yes, fresh water cooled. Don't really know what all he's doing, as I said, not my problem any more.

ITM: How many hours did the engines have on them,Speedy? Looks like he's got everything off of the short block...maybe he's getting the bottom ends rebuilt as well...Those big V8s will go through a lot of gas trying to outrun a tuna...lol

Riverrat: Pulling a motor out of one of those is not an easy or cheap task. Unless there was something major wrong you don't do it.
Wed, May 20th, 2015 @ 01:10:01 PM

ITM: That's why I asked about the hours..Ratt
Wed, May 20th, 2015 @ 01:19:06 PM

Speedy: Not a lot of hours. Good oil pressure, never overheated. I think the bottom ends are in good shape. I think he wanted them to look pretty and also to check the bores, manifolds, and risers, which is probably a good idea. The only problems I ever had were electrical. Both engines ran perfect.
