Helping UJ move to a new van?

Maynard:
find any records?

Riverrat:
No records. This one was a big pile of trash. We will be lucky to break even. But that happens in this business.

Makes me wonder, who pays, month after month, to keep CRAP. Hoarders? Mentally impaired? Sure can't be cheap. I remember a friend who ran a pawnshop years ago, he had a woman, who had been coming in for several years paying the interest every week on an old Apple II computer that was in pawn. At that point she had already paid more in interest than they thing was worth anymore, yet she still came in every week...

Riverrat:
On the average about 50% or more of the stuff in a storage unit goes in the garbage. Some of it may have meaning to the person that owned it like dishes that belonged to their grandmother even though they are chipped. But for the person trying to resell the stuff it's junk. There is generally a lot of worthless paper in them as well. But in most cases the people would have been better off having a rummage sale, then a dump run and forget about putting it in storage. The basic thing that happens is they owe $1000 we buy the unit for $200 and get $500 or so out of it.

People love to accumulate crap. The person with more crap wins.
