Homer: She running?
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 03:42:44 AM

snippy: i think she will. everythings freed up and sealing proper(valves). but i need to either overhaul mine or score another distributor. and its a rare bear, but i got my eyes open for one. i need some oldt school plug wires too.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 08:14:48 AM

Riverrat: Can you still buy the old school solid core wire by the roll?
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 08:37:03 AM

snippy: ya you can rats on ebay still. i think im gonna do an upgrade with the retro stuff. this is what it looks like im gonna get the green wires. http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/m-c-parts/electrical-wiring/harley-davidson/spark-plugs-wires.html
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 08:42:10 AM

Riverrat: That looks like what you need.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 08:46:38 AM

snippy: definitely.^ and they got whole truck wiring sets rats for about 4 hundred bucks from these peeps. http://www.riwire.com/ and id like to convert mine to 12v. that old 6v even with an 8v battery still doesnt cut it.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 08:54:24 AM

Riverrat: Finding anything for 6 volt systems anymore is hard including the battery. Even finding a battery charger that has a 6 volt setting is difficult.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 09:02:55 AM

ITM: Ehhh...^ they're not that hard to find. Just Google 6 volt auto battery and see what you get
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 10:53:53 AM

snippy: what im after is an electrical system that can handle fog/head/tail/marker/fender lights, fan, heater fan, spotlight, and a cats eye jeweled lighter and two dome lights and a set of courtesy lights. lotsa lights. plus a vacuum pump to run the wipers.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 11:15:36 AM

snippy: i might hafta run an inverter for the instruments.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 11:21:35 AM

Riverrat: Why not switch the wipers to electric?
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 12:42:05 PM

snippy: the vacuum ones are cooler and original.^
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 02:21:34 PM

Riverrat: I remember how bad they worked.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 02:59:33 PM

snippy: thats why the vacuum pump added. and theres a dash fan that also runs on vacuum thats classic so i gotta use it.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 04:30:49 PM

snippy: heres what the dash fan looks like. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Trico-Vacuum-Car-Dash-Fan-/231544852492?hash=item35e926100c&vxp=mtr
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 04:35:41 PM

Riverrat: Not relying on engine vacuum probably makes a big difference and having a dash fan is mandatory.
Sat, May 2nd, 2015 @ 05:22:16 PM

Homer: Leave it stock! Go 6 volt it will be worth more if u are gonna sell it
Sun, May 3rd, 2015 @ 03:51:12 AM

snippy: i think i want to drive it around Homre. and then wild thing can sell it after i kick the bucket.
Sun, May 3rd, 2015 @ 06:34:56 AM

snippy: I'll keep all the oldt wiring and 6volt stuff in a box in case the new owner wants it after im deadt.
Sun, May 3rd, 2015 @ 06:39:41 AM

Homer: Cool I thought u where fixing it up to sell
Sun, May 3rd, 2015 @ 07:17:28 AM

snippy: i've thought about it but then where would i get a cooler ride? the world has less than 15 of these old girls (1938 model 80D) still on the road.
