Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic. HAAHAAAAHAAAAAHHHAAAHAAA

HechoAmano: My mom was a nurse, she, and all her medical friends, back when I was teenager told me that mask were worn in the operating room to prevent doctors and nurses from coughing or sneezing into open surgical wounds during operations. They don't do shit to stop airborne anything. I wear mine to go into places to get stuff, and at work because it keeps the fanatical customers happy. But even my doctor customers don't believe in them, and the docs I have coming in, most don't wear a mask in the store...even though it's mandated right now LOL.
