ITM: The red hash marks are on there only to be cool. In the times before cell phones and race teams had 2 way radios the stripes were used on a few team Corvettes to identify the team cars when they entered the pit for service. They were easier to see than the numbers on the side.Corvette built a tribute grand sport version with the hash marks in 1996...now you know...If you didn't already
