Diagnosis is not good. I'm going to have to dig up my basement again. That cast iron junction pipe had loads of standing water in it and paper just glides down to that point and stops and eventually just builds up and forms a dam. Also my outside pipe to the city is starting to collapse.

Pretty much. When the basement was dug up the first time, should have taken out the cast iron bit you see in the previous pic.... Sigh.... That's hillbilly labor for you. Cheap, but sometimes you gotta do things twice.
