snippy: ya you're right 5's. expensive. i think its time to sell it and maybe get a grand cherokee.

Riverrat: Time to make a run to the scrap yard. If you separate the aluminum from the steel in that block you will get more money for it.

ITM: What failed on the old engine Snip?
Sun, February 22nd, 2015 @ 05:50:58 PM

snippy: im gonna give it to some bmw hippy art fags a couple towns over Rats. they are dirt poor and always scrounging bmw parts. what happened ITM was the headgasket failed because the transmission coolers heat exchange sprung a leak. it warped and cracked the head. it warped so much the steel threads on some of the headbolts stripped the aluminum block threads. the fixit kit for the threads alone they wanted 500 bucks no guarantee it wouldwork. it cracked the head too but i tig welded it and it turned out alright. i looked at the whole mess and decided to just buy another engine. i cant emphasize enough what a giant pain in the ass it was. unfucking believable.

snippy: 93 thousand on it BigJay. it was making good power till it shit.

ITM: If it's been that hot everything is most likely warped and or out of round. It would be futile to rebuild it
Sun, February 22nd, 2015 @ 07:18:10 PM

snippy: i had the head decked/shaved and then it spec'd out. the block was within specs. .004. it warped and sort of went back. but really, i agree with you and didnt want to chance it at this point.

snippy: i learned way more about bmw engines here than i ever wanted. that double vanos timing system inventer should have it jammed up his ass.

Mon, February 23rd, 2015 @ 01:14:22 PM

snippy: she liked it when the holy diapers wife went out and got that ford transit thing. it made an impression on her.she likes that same year of style too, she is not into the brand new ones.

Riverrat: Do they come in 4WD?
Mon, February 23rd, 2015 @ 01:28:35 PM

snippy: idk yet. idk squat about them. im still pushing for a decent lower mile grand cherokee overland but for some reason shes hating it. i told her nothing korean. other than that its pretty much wide open.
Mon, February 23rd, 2015 @ 01:32:45 PM

Riverrat: Probably because you like it. You should tell her no on the Cherokee and she will go for it.

BuckFutter: VANOS is an acronym for something in German that loosely translates to 3500 USD.
