Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 03:11:54 PM

snippy: oops meant updraft.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 03:12:27 PM

Riverrat: Yea, those were a real bitch to keep working right.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 04:03:39 PM

snippy: this is exactly how i found her rats. i still havent cleaned her off. but i did hose her with pb blaster. 4 cans so far on the whole truck. gonna need at least 6 cans more and just keep hosing it in there over and over. i want the least amount of broken bolts possible.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 04:15:23 PM

Riverrat: But broken bolts are so much fun.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 04:30:34 PM

snippy: broken easy outs stuck in broken bolts are even more fun.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 04:37:56 PM

Riverrat: Sometimes easyouts can cause more problems then they solve. If possible I liked welding a bolt to the broke bolt then heating the area around the broken bolt red hot and taking it out like that better then drilling and using an easy out. Or if I though a bolt was going to be a problem I would heat it before attempting to take it out. Try and get it out without breakage.

snippy: same here when possible. i dont try to wiggle anything till they soak awhile. like the wee heater doors and those front window cranks. id hate to break one of them. im gonna get the stuck rear hub to move first so them lug nuts and hub gotta come off shortly.

Riverrat: Rearh ub is probably the rear brakes rusted to the drum. Pound on it with a hammer to break the shoes loose.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 05:11:52 PM

snippy: i'll give that stuff a whirl GTLO thanks. well Rats i hope you're right and its not the bearing rusted to beat shit. the other side turns great so probably the rear end aint locked up.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 05:18:53 PM

Riverrat: The brakes would be a lot easier then a rusted bearing. The brakes are more logical because they never had grease on them. The bearing at least had grease on them at one time which would inhibit rust for a long time.

snippy: true. altho i was into a ford high pinon not too long ago and thru the broken vent tube on the top of the punkin, water got in and filled the fucker up. it was game over for the oldt boy i was helping, but that one had both sides stuck tighter than a skeeters ass.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 05:42:43 PM

Riverrat: In that case the whole pumpkin was probably a pile of rust also.
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 05:56:29 PM

snippy: ya it was. thats what stuck the axles was the planetary rusted up into a mess. turned it into a locker!

Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 07:17:47 PM

Pickles: So this is going to be a cat bootie delivery truck when it's all done?
Tue, December 30th, 2014 @ 07:24:19 PM

snippy: lol! i dont think rats would let me in on that Pickles. its his bread and butter. unless he wants to sponsor this here overhaul then maybe i could stick a cat bootie sticker on it or something.
