Speedy: You might also look for a tripped thermal overload switch. Probably look like some sort of pushbutton.

Deleted User: LOL !!!! Put volt meter on the 2 wires/connectors on the new element to see if voltage is there. Maybe new element is bad or possibly a thermostat or thermal protection device like Speedman and Snipz said.
