Bush smashed the economy & strapped the US with 2 unpaid for wars the likes of which we will be paying for many many years into the future. Remember- Clinton balanced the budget & bush fuck it all up sideways .... Obama has been trying to pick up the pieces while the Rupubs do everything in their power to block his efforts. All the repubs have is fake Obama scandals like Bengahzi, and tax cuts for the super rich.

Yes Bush was in charge when the economy collapsed so he gets blamed for it. But in reality it was really bad business practices on the part of thousands of people, mostly bankers and shipping all our manufacturing overseas that caused the problem. I don't know if Bush could have done anything to prevent it. And Obama is in charge now so he gets the blame. But the reality is that the same people are in charge of the banks and manufacturing so the people that caused the problems are still running things.

If you think Bush was responsible for the worldwide financial meltdown you are a loon. There were many factors- mainly credit swaps imho but to say Bush caused it is completely ridiculous. Also, "Clinton balanced the budget" Half of his 8 years he spent less then was budgeted- during the dot com boom when tax receipts were through the roof. Additionally, your boy Obama has added more than double to the debt compared to Bush. He is far and away the heavyweight champion of spending.

Gas prices, market bubbles, terrorists attacks- are always the current guys fault. Not true but that's the way it gets played out. As for the surplus, Bush cut taxes and the budget went red. & has stayed red ever since. It may have gone into the red for awhile but would have bounced back after the bubble had bush not cut taxes.

From what I understand part of the problem was that Clinton was financing the government with short term low interest loans that had a big balloon payment at the end. This made for low payments while he was president but they all came due while Bush was president and got rolled over into long term loans with no balloon payments. Clinton was looking at what would look good for his presidency and not what would be best for the country and we got bit with that during Bush.
