I worked at a college at the time of the OJ trial. When it was being announced there was a huge crowd in the cafeteria watching the big TV in there. A few hundred students and staff. When the acquittal came down it was quite surreal. All the white people just got real quiet and slithered away while everyone else was erupting in a huge celebration. No riots though...

Wilson had every right to defend himself but this went far beyond defending ourself against an unarmed attacker. Verdict was bullshit. Period. If any of us shot an unarmed person we wouldn't even have the luxury of the case being heard by a grand jury before being charged. We would be arrested and charged immediately

Maples, let it go. The burden of proof to indict is nowhere near as high as it is to convict. If there wasn't enough evidence to even indict the guy there wasn't a chance of hell of getting a conviction, and there was a helluva a lot of political pressure for the state to at least bring this to a trial.

The number of shots has nothing to do with it... infact, the first 2 rounds (fired inside the car) had NO EFFECT... The rest of the shots were fired in 2 other groups... He shot him as he exited the car, Brown then ran away, turned around, and cane back (and reached into his waistband), this is when the 3rd a fatal rounds happened... NEVER shit in the back, NEVER with his hands up, as his side claims...

Well maples you didn't see or hear the evidence that was presented to the grand jury. You only know what was on the news. Because of that you shouldn't really second guess the grand jury because you are speaking out of ignorance due to lack of knowledge.

If the man had stopped when the police officer told him to stop we wouldn't be talking about this today. Police put their lives on the line for us everyday and I'm always going to be inclined to support them in these kinda cases. A hulking man who would reach into a cop car and grapple for the cops gun is a danger to everyone around him, and not someone a cop should take chances with IMO. Justice was served, time to move on.

Of course the grand jury is gonna believe a cops sugar coated story over any thug witness. Did any one see the cops injury? He hand a pink cheek. I watch live feed from the protests from the people. I just feel this cop could have resolved this with out 12 shots being fired off. Its not like his only form of defense is a pistol.
