Riverrat: The price of everything is down right now. It's the economy. Scrap prices are about half of what they were a year ago.

Riverrat: Yup, when scrap prices are high people will scrap everything and steal to get the scrap. The only reason why I do scrap metal is I get the stuff in and it makes more sense than throwing it away. But the prices aren't high enough to intentionally go out trying to find scrap metal. I see it advertised on craigslist all the time for people to haul away for free but it isn't even worth the gas to go get it.
