Speedy: That's an oder boat, maybe from the 70's or 80's, I think.

Riverrat: I think 80s. A lot of them were still being made out of wood in the 70s. Although that's probably fiberglass over wood.

Fleedle: A captain once told me "There's only one thing wrong with a Chris Craft...Chris and Craft."

Riverrat: I had a 24' with the 283 in it. The engine was really odd. They mounted it in backwards and drove the tanny off of what would have been the front of the motor on a car. Then they had this big housing that went over the back of the engine to cover the flywheel. They drove the waterpump and distributor off of that housing. They used a Chrysler dual point distributor in it. The big reason for not using a GM distributor is the little door in the cap made for a spark hazard which if there are fumes around the engine you can have a fire.
