I found out something that I had no idea of. I got the buddy that does the sailboat life six months and is in Florida, but he discovered about five years ago, he was trying to renew his tags online but he needed an inspection. Going along the website, he found there was an option to get a new inspection tag in the mail, because there's a button that says, "vehicle is currently out of state". He clicked it, put in card details, and the state of Texas sends him a new inspection sticker in the mail! No inspection required. Now he does it for every vehicle he owns, regardless of where they are at any given time. It's crazy. The state means for these to be used for retired people that are on the road RV'ing all the time. I'm going to start doing it.
